CUSTOM ORDERING

2024 NOTE: We will not be available for custom-designed projects April-July 2024. Owner, Meg, will be on maternity leave during this time and the remaining small team will be focused on weddings + webshop orders only. Please review our webshop collection to see if anything there may suit your needs. Custom projects will resume in August. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Custom orders require a minimum investment of $350.00+. To book a custom order, a retainer and signed contract are needed to secure your event date.

  • We are often booked several weeks or months in advance. This currently applies to all year. We’re finding that there is no longer a “peak season” for events and all months are booking up much further in advance than usual. Keep in mind that we are first and foremost a wedding caterer and are only able to fit in other celebration orders when our schedule allows.

  • We recommend reaching out as soon as you start to plan your event so we can check our availability for you. We are a small team of four and place an emphasis on quality over quantity to keep our creative work at a high level.

  • Custom orders often require us to purchase new or custom materials to create your order. Ample time is needed to source and ship these items to us.

  • Any request that you do not see featured in our online shop is considered a custom order and must meet the minimum cost and time requirements outlined above.

  • Each cake artist specializes in certain styles and techniques. When searching for a cake vendor for your event, be sure your artist works in the style you desire. For example, we do not often offer 3d sculpted characters/objects (animals, cars, trains, etc). We also do not carve cakes into 3d shapes. Our cakes are either round, square, rectangle or heart shaped with details added throughout. We prefer to work in a more painterly, abstract style - using pattern, texture and piping to create a pleasing composition. We love gold accents! We love abstract work that allows our creativity to shine! “Modern and minimalist” would be the preferred project for us to commit to. (*We do not recreate exact replicas of other artists’ work. We respectfully ask that you trust us to create something unique for you, based on the inspiration you provide).

  • Be aware that we DO NOT create cakes that include copyrighted characters or imagery. Meaning, we will not recreate the likeness or logos of any Disney, Pixar, Sesame Street, Harry Potter, Marvel, Mattel etc. material. This is considered copyright infringement and could result in legal action from these large companies. Instead, we’d be happy to create a cake that includes a comparable color palette and vibe. You’re welcome to add your own licensed figurines.

To propose the correct size cake, we’ll need to know approximately how many guests will be attending your event.

Pick your cake and buttercream filling flavors from our menu. Next, decide on which style best suits your desired design - fondant covering or buttercream texture. Fondant cakes contain the exact same amount of buttercream as a “buttercream” cake. Fondant cakes simply have an additional, thin layer of fondant covering the cake. Fondant acts as a canvas for us to utilize certain techniques not available to buttercream cakes - including stenciling, sculpting and hand painting. We’d be happy to steer you in the right direction if you are unsure which suits your style best.

For all custom orders, please submit the inquiry form and we’ll respond at our earliest convenience, generally within 48 hours. Once your order is discussed and availability is confirmed, we’ll draft your invoice and contract for review. A deposit of $250 is required to secure our availability; your remaining balance and any order adjustments are due by 7 days prior to your event date.

If you’re planning on picking up your order from our Manayunk facility, we’ll have you schedule a date and time slot. If your order exceeds $350.00 and delivery is needed, we can provide our availability and a quote.
